Preparing our littlest ones for the future!

The Pre-Kindergarten Program provides a nurturing and academically enriching environment for children ages 3 - 5 with instruction for basic school readiness. Class sizes are small and the teacher-to-student ratio is low. The pre-kindergarten 3 class is comprised of a maximum of fifteen children and the pre-kindergarten 4 class has a maximum of eighteen children. Small classes and low child-to-teacher ratios allow the preschool, as well as the Center’s staff, to give great care and attention to each child. The daily schedule includes story time, group time, snack break, outside play, nap time and enrichment activities.

The University of Texas Health Science Center certified the Nehemiah Center's Pre-Kindergarten Program as "Texas School Ready!" in 2011. In addition to this prestigious accreditation, they also consider our Pre-K 4 class to be the model classroom for their entire program. Education professionals and supporters of early childhood education from across Texas come to observe the Nehemiah Center's program that is successfully preparing at-risk little ones for a strong start in kindergarten and beyond.
